16th Wedding Anniversary Look (and also for our 1st NYE Party)

Yesterday my husband and I celebrated 16 years together as husband and wife. We went to San Juan to a wonderful Seafood Restaurant with the kids and had a great meal (and hey, we also got the chance to meet and say hi to our Island next Governor who was having lunch there too, lol!) Then, we headed to my Mom's house for a pre-NYE dinner party since I'm actually going to spend it with my In-laws. Perfect day, I tell you. Thankful.

I decided for a one eyeshadow eye makeup look but with a pop of color in the lips (Clarins l/g in Grenadine -- this has become a fave of mine!! I'm considering getting all of them; seriously, they are REALLY good).

• AMAZING COSMETICS Concealer in Tan -- to conceal my dark under eye area and spots. ++This is another product that I bought a long time ago but I've just used it a few times. Still 'on trial'. Gotta say, it's pretty pigmented.
• REVLON COLORSTAY WHIPPED CRÈME MAKEUP in Natural Tan -- Ok, loving this foundation. Excellent coverage, long lasting and makes me believe my skin is industry standard perfect, hahaha.
• DIOR Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen in Sunbeam -- Bought it a few months ago and still not convinced...maybe is the shade that I got? ...
• BENEFIT Cha Cha Tint
• MAC Spaced Out Powder Blush (LE)
• MAYBELLINE Dream Matte Powder in Honey Medium -- Applied with a makeup puff. Love this setting powder from day one.

• L'OREAL Voluminous False Fiber Lashes Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black -- It's an okay mascara.

• JACK BLACK Lip Balm (Natural Mint and Shea Butter) -- Oh my! I was so in love with my SH Healing Butter for Lips (discontinued) that I didn't give this one a chance until now. WOW WOW WOW!!!
• BITE BEAUTY Line & Define Lip Primer
• CLARINS Gloss Prodige Lipgloss in Grenadine (♥♥♥♥)

LOOK: Red Lips for Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, my husband, children an moi had a great time with my brother's extended family and Oh-My-God, I finally ate "PERNIL Y ARROZ CON GANDULES (Ham Hock and Rice w/ Pigeon Peas, puertorican style)!!! Food was so delicious even my youngest son ate the PERNIL (he never did before, that's like HUGE!) LOL.

Ah, I love this time of year. I know I'm blessed.

Well, this was my simple Red Lips look.

FACE

• PHILOSOPHY The Present Clear Makeup
• EVE PEARL Salmon Concealer in Tan --  Under eye/plane of the cheeks and other areas, to cover my dark spots (caused by Melasma)
• REVLON COLORSTAY WHIPPED CRÈME MAKEUP in Natural Tan -- So far, so good...really good. This product is still on my 'trial' period. I applied this foundation with the SIGMA F86-Tapered Kabyki Brush which proved to be the correct choice for the finish I wanted.
• BEN NYE Banana Luxury Powder -- I apply it with a fluffy brush all over my face, then press it against my skin with a makeup puff. That helps to minimize the size of my huge pores. Skin looks pretty great.
• MAC Springsheen Powder Blush
• SKINDINAVIA Bridal Makeup Finish Spray

EYES

• UDPP -- The original one. My fave eye primer.
• MAC E/S in Naked Lunch (all over wash, one of my all time fave E/S from MAC), Brun (crease, top lash line, outer 'V' and half of lower lash line)
• MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC42/NW35 -- Lower waterline. LOVING this pencil, looks way better and natural than white e/l.
• MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud
• ESTEE LAUDER Lash Primer Plus
• MAC Zoom Waterfast Lash Mascara -- Ehmmm...not liking it very much. It flakes. Gotta check if I'm applying too much?

LIPS

• ROSEBUD Strawberry Lip Balm -- An O.K. product, not too moisturizing though.
• BITE BEAUTY Line & Define Lip Primer
• REVLON Super Lustrous L/S in 740-Certainly Red
• REVLON Super Lustrous L/G in 160-Firecracker

Look: MAC Trax & Typographic

Went with hubby to a birthday party the other day; we had an awesome time!

I decided for a mix of Trax and Typographic. I really love Trax and its golden sparkles. THIS (click) is a similar look I did with Trax.

FACE

• PHILOSOPHY The Present Clear Makeup -- Great primer for when you need you makeup to stay in place all night!
• EVE PEARL Salmon Concealer in Tan --  under eye/plane of the cheeks and other areas, to cover my dark spots (caused by Melasma)
• ESTEE LAUDER Double Wear Foundation in 4W1-Shell Beige -- One of my fave foundations, applied with a Beauty Blender.
• BEN NYE Banana Luxury Powder -- Honestly, I've tried lots of good makeu setting powders, this has to be one of (if not) the best. Great price too! I apply it with a brush all over my face, then press it against my skin with a makeup puff. That helps to minimize the size of my huge pores. Skin looks pretty great.
• MAC Refined Golden Bronzer -- to contour (side of my cheeks, just a bit really).
• MAC X-Rocks Powder Blush (LE) -- Love this blush, but it turned out I applied too much.  =/
• SKINDINAVIA Bridal Makeup Finish Spray -- Amazing product.

EYES

• UDPP -- The original one. My fave eye primer.
• MAC E/S in Blanc Type (all over wash), Idol Eyes (inner corner of eye), Trax (2/3 of eyelid and lower lash line), Typographic (outer V, part of the crease and outer part of lower lash line), Shroom (highlight under the eyebrows).
• REVLON Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen in Blackest Black -- Excellent! I really like this pen. The E/L stays put for a long time.
• MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud
• ESTEE LAUDER Lash Primer Plus
• L'OREAL Voluminous Power Volume 24HR Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black.

LIPS

• ROSEBUD Strawberry Lip Balm -- An O.K. product, not too moisturizing though.

• NARS Dolce Vita L/S
• MAC Love Nectar L/G -- On top of Dolce Vita. Beautiful combo.

REVIEW: Clarins Gloss Prodige Lip Gloss in Nude & Grenadine

PRODUCT:  Clarins Gloss Prodige Lip Gloss

PRICE:  $20 for 0.2oz

SHADES: GRENADINE and NUDE

SO?: I bought Clarins Gloss Prodige glosses in Grenadine and Nude months ago and I gotta say, I love them! Grenadine is quite pigmented. Nude is not so, but it goes on beautifully too if you know how to work it. And Wow! Love the formula. Very moisturizing, not sticky at all and stays on lips for at least 3 hours (of course, less if you drink or eat). I like the fact that when they start to wore off my lips, they are left moisturized and boy, love-love-LOVE that fruity scent. No huge trail of shimmer (for those shades that have more of it, like Grenadine).

Of the shades that I got, Grenadine is a better color for my warm skin but I guess it could work for cooler undertones. Nude goes best on skins with cool undertones or lighter skintones than mine (I'm right now an NC37 maybe?), although I am making it work over neutral shade lip pencils. It's perfect.

It's worth noticing that I didn't notice the gloss 'traveling' out of my lips. That always worries me now that I, well, have more line around my lips. =/

All in all, this is a great buy --bit pricey-- but totally worthy. One of those products worth the money. At least for me.

RATING:  4.5/5 (On the pricey side, excellent quality).

Makeup for date with hubby! (My makeup makeover)

Last weekend Hubby and I went out for a couple of drinks and then to see a standup comedy show. Super funny. We had a great time!

So I wanted a nice, neutral but sexy eye makeup. Also, I wanted my skin to look good, like REALLY good. So here are some pics of the process.

How it was achieved:

MAC E/S: Blanc Type (applied w/ MAC 225) and Jest on eyelids (applied w/ MAC 252)

 MAC E/S: Wedge in crease (applied w/ MAC 217) and Texture on crease,  

outer 'V' and lower lash line (MAC 217); MAC Carbon E/S as eyeliner (top lash line, applied w/ MAC 266); 

MAC Stud Eyebrow Pencil (blended w/ MAC 204)

UD Zero E/L on both waterlines; MAC Blacktrack Fluidline (on top of Carbon and on waterlines, 

applied w/ MAC 266); Mascara (I used Real Techniques Lash-Brow Groomer brush -- excellent!!); 

Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer already applied with my fingers

 

Primer, Foundation already applied (Louis Young LYL34 brush) and then concealer were needed

Then the rest of my makeup (list of products I used below) and voilà: Gorgeous me!
