A little more than a week ago, The Body Shop (TBS) opened one of their new PULSE Stores at Sears, Plaza Las Américas (San Juan, PR) and other three locations around Puerto Rico. The Body Shop is very well known in the beauty blogosphere and, oh boy, was I excited when I got an invite to the opening!
What is a Pulse Store?
"For the first time ever, The Body Shop, the
original, natural, and ethical beauty brand with over 2,700 stores in 63 markets
worldwide, will make its debut in Sears department stores in response to
consumer demand. Each new store will feature The Body Shop new Pulse store
concept, an innovative boutique browsing experience where the brand’s new “Beauty With Heart” movement comes
to life. With Skincare, Make-Up, Body Care and Values center stage, Pulse
creates a unique and memorable shopping experience – a “playground for beauty” – that
engages, educates and informs. The Body Shop has always had a
commitment to living its values and helping the communities. The Body Shop
products stand out for being naturally and responsibly sourced, as well as for
bringing Community Fair
Trade products into the retail realm.
The partnership with Sears allows The Body Shop to offer their innovative
range of products powered by nature (including bath and body, skincare and gift
sets) to the Puerto Rican consumer."
I really like the Pulse Store concept. Do not confuse this store at Sears for a counter because well, first, it is not a counter per se and second, you can just sit around the table and try the products, ask for lots of samples (YEP YEP, try before you buy!) and open up to what you really need and/or are looking for, also depending on the needs of your skin. I had a great time at the store and browsing through all the products while talking and sharing experiences with other ladies was very relaxing.
Of course, the p.r. and TBS team were excellent, very kind and helpful (thanks to Lara, Vijay from Bratskeir & Co. and Katia from TBS!). I like it when not only store attendants but even the executives can fully explain the whole company values, history and their products. I mentioned this because I have had the experience in other places where I know more about a product than the company representative or store attendants o_O (very discouraging, I know).
I am very impressed with the company beliefs and values, their efforts and actions to help and give back to the community, activate self esteem (so much needed these days!), to defend human rights, protect the planet and their policy and stance against animal testing!
Now, TBS has a total of four Pulse Stores at Sears in San Juan, Hatillo, Mayaguez and Ponce and will offer some of their products in lower scale (as in tables with their products) at Sears in Caguas and others locations. It's worth noticing that The Pulse Stores here in the island carry the ten most popular products between the consumers and a few things more. They are not bringing the makeup and other goodies, YET. Can't wait for that to happen! These TBS Pulse Stores does not have the Rewards Card program for the moment, though they do have special offers throughout the year.
I wish the best to the TBS Pulse Stores here in the Puerto Rico and I hope they open more stores (and therefore more job opps to boricuas!).
Pssst... The press/bloggers kit was awesome. It had in it some of TBS best products and one I had expressed to them I wanted to try: the Nutriganics Drops of You, woohoo!!
ETA: Forgot to mention that, as always, I do take my time testing skincare products. If you are interested in more pictures/swatches/reviews of any of the products shown above, leave a comment or write to me at bedalyz@hotmail.com
So, have you tried their products? Any favorites?
Hope you are all having an amazing weekend.
