Wow, long time since my last post.
I took a couple of pics today of my makeup--I just wanted to share and mention some products that I've been using this summer and I just really like.
My makeup routine has changed again (what a surprise). The heat here in the island is almost unbearable. Record breaking temperatures and super humid. So of course, less makeup is the way to go --if you wear makeup at all. I decided to go for a good concealer to deal with my melasma dark spots and dark eyelids. Also, I like to use mascara to give a little emphasis to the eyes alongside defining my eyebrows a bit (not too much, I admit I've not groomed them properly in weeks...).
LOL, I definitely have to deal with my eyebrows, =)
FACE
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC35 -- This stuff lasts a good 8hrs (MAC claims 15), doesn't matter if I've sweated all day. It has a matte finish and provides medium full to full coverage. The only thing I don't like is the pump, kinda hard to deal with if you just want a small amount of product.
MAC Blot Powder/Pressed in Medium Dark -- I set the concealer with this powder using a makeup puff. That helps to diminish the look of my pores. Really great for touch-ups since it is not very pigmented--it does not makes your skin look 'cakey'.
EYES
MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud OR Maybelline Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown -- I did a review on both products (CLICK HERE) Both are really good but you actually get more amount for the money buying the MAC one. Also, Maybelline apparently discontinued the Dark Brown color =( . These pencils are great to fill in my eyebrows. I use a spoolie brush to blend it.
MAC Opulash Mascara -- I really like this mascara. I apply it only on the top lashes during the day and it doesn't smudge when I sweat (I've had that issue with W/P mascaras that I only apply on top lashes...??). Funny because it is not advertised as a waterproof mascara but just that it lasts "15 hours". Don't know about that, but I've used it for 8+ hours and it stays in place. The formula is fantastic and I love the big brush. Neutrogena Healthy Volume W/P Mascara is similar to this mascara, but it flakes a bit and doesn't stand the heat as good as Opulash. BUT, Maybelline does have great waterproof mascaras so yeah, it's cheaper.
LIPS
LANCOME Color Fever Gloss in Green Petal -- (from the Spring 2012 Collection--still available at Nordstrom.com) -- I just like to feel that my lips are very moisturized. This Lancome gloss is my latest love. The formula is very moisturizing and shiny. ❤❤❤ This is the shade I have on my lips in these pics.
When is so hot outside and part of your work is out in the field...don't fight with makeup. It's not worth it. In my case, these few products provide what I consider a 'decent' look without me worrying about my makeup melting down in front of everybody. Don't forget sunscreen!!!
